Medicaid Facts

Medicaid is financial and medical assistance for individuals who have limited assets. Funding is both Federal and State through Title XIX of the Social Security act. Medicaid assistance is available for individuals over 65 years of age. Less than 65 years of age for those who are declared by Social Security to be disabled, or blind.

For eligibility you must be:
  • A US citizen or a lawful alien
  • A resident of Oregon with intent to remain
  • Income below $1635.00 per month
  • Fixed or liquid assets of up to $2000.00
  • Life insurance with a face value of up to $1500.00, not including burial merchandise
  • Must have not sold, traded, or given away any real or personal property for less that fair market value within the last 2.5 years prior to application.

Medicaid pays for services that are medically necessary and prescribed by a physician:
  1. Physicians
  2. Hospitals
  3. Prescription drugs
  4. Emergency Dental Care
  5. Supplemental Oxygen
  6. Medical transportation
  7. Nursing Home Care
  8. Physical therapy/speech therapy/and occupational therapy
